Party Programs:
Painting: Abstract Expressionism - Kids will learn about abstract painting - especially how much fun it is to make! Splatter paint like Jackson Pollock, learn how to mix colors, dance around the canvas, feel the flow of your inner artist coming out. Aprons will be provided, although students are encouraged to not wear their favorite outfit to this party... it's going to get messy!
Jewelry Design - Learn different jewelry-making techniques including how to use metal wire and beads to make elegant, high-quality jewelry! Everyone in the group will work together to create a friendship bracelet for the birthday child, and will also make their own necklace, bracelet, or anklet. Or you can choose to do macrame and knotwork - make friendship bracelets, learn different knots and how to add beads to your work. High quality materials including glass beads, gemstones, pearls, and metal clasps are inlcuded.
Exploring Bugz - During this Art & Science lesson, students will venture outside to collect bugs using butteryfly nets and jars, and look at different bugs using magnifying lenses and make your own bug slides to be observed under real professional microscopes. They will learn fun facts about insects and then spend the rest of their time designing and creating their own bugs and creepy crawlers using all kinds of fun craft materials. Make wings with tissue paper and pipe cleaners... use paper mache, glitter, googly eyes and more!
Animal Lovers - Forget the clowns, we can make our own balloon animals! This party is all about animals: Learn to draw your favorite animal, paint a portrait of your pet, sculpt cute little creatures using modeling clay, and twist up your own colorful balloon animals. Real live animals will be featured at this party! Play with a box turtle, hold a corn snake, observe some tree frogs... get some inspiration from the real thing.
3-D Construction & Building - Construct your own dollhouse mansion, castle, or mad scientist's laboratory using recycled cardboard, tape, scissors, and various collage materials. Add the finishing details using paint, fabric, and markers. Students will learn all about architecture and geometry (and they won't even know it!). Each student can make their own building, or they can work in groups.
